stuff we like ~ turn it tool

I quite like fiddly .
I really don't mind turning things through or handstitching at night.
Squiddley was a bit fiddly .

Frances was certainly fiddly .

But there really is a limit to my patience .

Jodie from The Haby Goddess stocks these fantastic tube turners .
Straps for dresses , headbands  or anything tubey !

Jodie also has a very clear tutorial on how these work , I can't wait to get mine !

What would you use yours for ?

childishly

ridiculously, crazily, jump up and down and squeal ,point and exclaim,

so , so very happy with my solar lights wrapped around an upside down
planter basket hung on my verandah outside my kitchen window .

This is true love ...

I've made quite a few of these little bags .

and I am approaching the finish line for a new softie pattern .

Now I look at this stuff it seems I have gotten a few things done .

Are you playing Our Creative Spaces ?

crafty easter soiree`

Hello there are you getting ready for Easter ?
Are you having a little Easter do for your craft group ?

Woolworths have these plastic eggs that snap apart apparently for children .
I think the children will cope without these.

If you put some crafty things inside they'd be great as a little
table decoration/gift at the big girls craft party .
Ribbons , cotton reels , buttons and little , teeny carrots will all fit .
You can still fit in a couple of little eggs too .

How's everything with you ? I hope you are well xx

st patricks day

My family has an Irish background and we have a few very special Patricks.
My grandfather was a Patrick so when my mother had her first son
she named him Patrick .
My youngest brother named his first son Patrick .

To all my special Paddies have a great day !

I never finish anythi

I'm finalising two new patterns .
There are another 3 sitting in the background whispering at me
" come and work on us , come on !"

I was cleaning my daughters bedroom the other day and saw how
much makeup she gets on the floor , another valid reason why
14 year old girls are too young for makeup.

Anyway I decided I would make a mat to protect the carpet .
Not finished.

I also thought the loungeroom needed another floor cushion .
Not finished.

Earlier in the year I joined in (sort of) with Jodie's rag-a-long.
Not finished.

My crocheting I love to do all year round but again -
Not finished.

A pretty stitchery I started one night when it was too hot to crochet .
Not finished .

Sometimes I need to be forced to finish things so I have made a booking
with my printer man for next week for two patterns to be printed up .

I'd love to know how many things others have unfinished .

I'd better go and finish somethi

speckled eggs

Speckled eggs ~ so cute and fun to make .

What else are you going to do with all these teeny , tiny scraps ?

All the little bits of fabric that just ends up on the floor is
cut into even smaller bits and simply glued to styrofoam eggs .
Even a plain gluestick does the trick .

Having a small bowl of water to clean your fingers as you glue and smooth is helpful.

The kids could help with these .
If they really have to .

They look gorgeous displayed in a bowl or you could thread some string
through them and hang them from a branch for a different Easter display .

all good , thanks

My poor little town has been flooded again .
The SES has again worked tirelessly .

Those down river from us are coping with it now.

Here is my house on the left and my inlaws on the right (damn close aren't they)
and behind us is normally a back road and paddocks .
A few homes in town were evacuated and the old bridge is looking very tired.
My family were never in any danger but I do appreciate your concern .
Thanks so much for all the messages and emails .
I am very , very grateful xx

stuff we like ~ chalk cloth

I must admit I haven't had anything to do with chalk cloth so it was interesting
having discussions with the people that do know about it .

It has become very popular and Pauline from The Calico Crossroads
in Tasmania has to be on her toes keeping up with the demand .
Pauline tells me her store stocks it at $24 pm (120cm wide)
Fat quarters are $6.50.
These prices will vary depending on where you shop.

It is important to prime your cloth before you use it just as
you would a real chalk board .
To prime you run a piece of chalk sideways across the entire surface.
To wipe off drawings again just use a damp cloth .

What is it used for ?

Placemats , menu boards , kids playmats , labels and even here on tshirts.

Little Pickers applique t-shirts.

Play mat from Signed with Love .

Playaway Mat from KelliOne .

Make sure you read through the comments that are left here
I have very clever visitors and they often leave very clever ideas in the comments .

Is there a product or gadget you would like to find out about ?
Contact me and let me know , I'm enjoying this research .

P.S. Thank you all for the lovely birthday messages xxx
